Trash Collection

Curbside trash collection is only available within the City of Elizabeth City. The county provides six self-serve convenience sites which take both household waste and recycling.

The convenience sites are located at
Newland Site: 926 US Hwy 158.
Providence Site: 1993 North Road Street (behind Providence Fire Station)
Well Field Rd Site: 944 Well Field Rd
Mount Hermon Site: 711 Methodist Church Rd
Landfill: 983 Simpson Ditch Rd
Coast Guard Site: 1577 Weeksville Rd (opposite USCG Base)
Weeksville Site: 2736 Peartree Rd

Sites are open Monday - Wednesday from 7am to 7pm.
Closed Thursday
Friday & Saturday from 7am to 7pm
Sunday from 1pm to 6pm

The convenience sites and landfill are also closed for
• New Years Day (Jan 1)
• Easter
• July 4th
• Thanksgiving
• Christmas Eve (Dec 24)
• Christmas (Dec 25)

Door-to-door collection of garbage in Pasquotank County can be contracted with the various waste collection companies. Residential garbage collection within the corporate limits of the municipality of Elizabeth City is the responsibility of city government.
